BOARDWALK ERECTED AT THE TIP OF AFRICA

When our family visited the memorial stone at the tip of Africa last week, we were greeted by an exciting development.

The South African National Parks authority is busy with the construction of a boardwalk to the memorial at the tip of Africa. A Boardwalk is a wooden structure slightly elevated above the natural terrain and the fynbos.

Until recently one had to parked in a rough semi accessible parking space and make way over a rough patched footpath to the memorial.

Following the success of the boardwalk in Struisbaai, between the Struisbaai harbor and Beach Road, this new boardwalk really promises a new level of experience for pilgrims to this memorable place.

And it appeal to my sense of really trying to conserve the semi-pristine nature of the area. In this instance SANPARKS is living up to the motto: "Leaving nothing but footprints, taking nothing but photographs"

Come people, now more than ever, this is one of the things we must do before one dies. To let your photograph be taken at the very southernmost point of Africa, the doorway to the "Antartic".
